The genre of post-black metal has often been mislabeled. This is the case where it can be used appropriatly. Incredibly composed music with an intelligent progression.
The band cites countless influences, most of them in the Goth/Avant Prog Metal area such as Ulver, Ved Buens Ende, Solefald, Arcturus, Elend, Pink Floyd and many others.

Formed in 2006, Smohalla debuted with their first autoprod demo 'Smolensk Combustion' then the concept EP 'Nova Persei' in 2007. 'Noyade Céleste', split CD with Immemorial, followed in 2009. 
At the end of 2011, the band popped up again with their full-length debut album Resilience, and will be back in 2013 for a split album with Omega Centauri on Duplicate records.
